The Reason Why Babies Ask To Drink Water Continuously?
Last night, I want to ask two questions, I have a 7 month old child. In the last few weeks, my child always asks for a drink when he sees me drinking. He even wants to drink more and reduce breast milk. Is it dangerous to drink too much water for babies?rn rnThank you
Babies over 6 months are allowed to drink water but if they are still under 6 months it is not recommended because giving water can pose risks such as the risk of malnutrition, the risk of diarrhea and the risk of water poisoning. For this reason, it is necessary to provide good water that meets the elements of clean water that has been cooked first. If over 6 months, the provision of water is allowed in conditions such as:
Hot weather makes children thirsty more easily
Baby has flu or diarrhea to prevent dehydration
After giving complementary foods to breast milk, as children get older they are no longer dependent on breast milk but also get nutrition from complementary foods
If you give formula milk you can work around making the milk a little thinner than usual for a while, but return to the recommended dose once the baby's condition is better. Also pay attention to the presence or absence of other symptoms that arise in the baby such as fever, mouth sores or whether the child is fussy to see and be aware of other conditions that make the child not want to breastfeed. Check with the doctor if the condition persists.
Hope it is useful,
