The Right Exercise For Scoliosis Sufferers?
I was just diagnosed with scoliosis a month ago when I had an X-ray and I’ve been to an orthopedic doctor, he said the degree of inclination is below 10 degrees and I’m now 20 years old. The doctor said that if you are over 20 years old, the development of crooked bones is slow. Is it true?then what is a good sport to reduce spinal curvature for scoliosis?thank you
Hello sister Fennyrosena,
Scoliosis is a condition where the spine is not in a straight line, which can be characterized by asymmetrical shoulders and waist, spinal pain, and the potential to cause HNP or pinched spinal nerves. Entering the age of 20 years, bone growth is quite slow and bone density is high enough and the body can support a strong enough load so that the slope of the bones or the development of scoliosis can slow down, bone growth generally stops at the age of 22 years. Risk factors for scoliosis include the habit of carrying heavy items of more than 3 kg on one side of the body such as a tote or sling bag, sitting not in the right position, the habit of stretching when sitting or watching, or bone injury. One way to improve the position of the bones such as physiotherapy, the use of a special spinal corset, swimming or other sports, yoga or pilates with special assistance. Check regularly with your orthopedic specialist if there are complaints or you can consult with a rehabmedical specialist to handle physiotherapy. May be useful. click the article: Scoliosis.
