The Risk Of Recurrence Of Herpes On The Skin?
Good evening doctor.. in 2010 I had herpes in the stomach, only a patch.. then 2015 got another patch on the hand.. what I want to ask.. is there still a chance of getting herpes?
Herpes zoster is a disease caused by infection with the Varicella zoster virus and causes complaints in the form of a red, watery rash that feels hot, like burning, and causes aches on one side of the body only.
Because the cause of herpes is a virus (a virus hiding in the body's nerves when it is inactive), this disease can recur at any time when the immune system is weak or not fit. Some things that can trigger a relapse include being stressed, being on immunosuppressive medication, suffering from other infections, drinking alcohol, and smoking.
Examination to diagnose herpes is by interview, physical examination, and investigations if necessary. Herpes treatment is with oral and topical antivirals as well as supporting drugs if necessary such as painkillers and fever reducers. Antivirus provided aims to suppress the activity of the virus.
To prevent recurrence of herpes, you can do the following tips:
Boost immunity, drink plenty of water, eat lots of vegetables and fruit, get enough rest, exercise regularly, manage stress well, avoid cigarette smoke and alcohol, shingles vaccine (recommended for those over 50 years old) The following articles relate to the topic of your question:
