The Solution To Overcome Lower Left Abdominal Pain That Has Been Recovering For 3 Days?
, 3 days ago I had a chance to see a general practitioner due to lower left abdominal pain and green stool (but not enter), green stool only once it came out .. And the initial diagnosis was bacterial .. given the drug amoxicillin trihydrate 500mg, papaverine hci 40mg, metronidazole 500mg … And told to wait until the drug runs out (3 days) but after taking the drug says having diarrhea, and stomach discomfort .. is that a side effect of the drug? Or should I go back to the doctor?
Hello Michelle, thank you for using HealthReplies.com.
Green stool can be caused by consuming dark green vegetables that contain lots of chlorophyll, including cabbage, spinach, and broccoli, bile insoluble in food, taking antibiotics and other drugs, after performing medical procedures such as bone marrow transplantation, parasitic infections, viruses, and bacteria, Crohn's disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), ulcerative colitis, and anal fissures.
Diarrhea that you experience can be due to an infection that has occurred before you take antibiotics. However, it is also possible that there are several types of antibiotics that can turn off good bacteria in the intestine, and can cause diarrhea.
I suggest you to consult your doctor again before or to a specialist in internal medicine, so that a thorough examination can be done, such as question and answer, examination of vital signs, physical examination of the abdomen and anus, and supporting examinations if needed such as a complete stool examination, and ultrasound , so that treatment can be given according to your diagnosis.
As for the things you can do right now are:
Consuming liquids as much as possible, can be in the form of water or juice
Eat soft food for several days
Avoid foods that are full of fat, fiber, or seasonings. If the intestinal condition has improved, change to semi-solid foods with gradually increasing fiber content.
Maintain personal hygiene, food, drinks and cutlery, to prevent microbial contamination into the digestive tract
Cook until cooked food or drinks to be consumed
Such information that I can provide, hopefully can help you.
