The Stitches Are Loose, Gaping And Red After 39 Days Of Normal Childbirth?
hello i want to ask, i gave birth on november 1 yesterday. my baby was 4kg big so there was a tear to the birth canal 2 weeks after giving birth, my wound was controlled by the midwife, the midwife said that there was no stitching but there was no need to be re-stitched and would heal itself after 39 days now I saw for myself the wound was still like mangap and red. is it reasonable until 39 days the wound hasn’t healed yet. does it have to be sewn up again or is there another way to get well soon because I am afraid of being sewed again. thank you
Hello Siti, thank you for asking at HealthReplies.com.
There are tear scars on the birth canal that need stitching but some don't, depending on the type of tear that occurs.
Tears that do not require stitches will generally experience improvement within about 2 weeks after the tear occurs with a record of maternal nutrition intake and also the treatment of the wound is done well so that the healing process can run optimally.
For your complaints at this time, it should be examined further by an obstetrician to be reassessed on the condition of the tear, so that it can be determined what should be done further.
In the meantime, it is better for you to maintain your daily nutrition intake, especially for protein and also vitamins and minerals (from vegetables and fruits). It is also recommended to better maintain the cleanliness of your female area, especially the area of the torn wound.
Avoid intercourse first until further advice from your doctor. Do not use / take any medicine without any clear advice from a doctor.
I hope this helps.
