laparotomy or surgery in the abdominal area, usually does leave a large enough incision and requires stitches to close it. These stitches will usually require several visits to the doctor to see how it progresses. The presence of pus in the wound indicates that the infection process has occurred during the wound healing period. This condition can be caused by unhygienic wound care, even if you have used an antiseptic when opening the stitches. It can also be that the stitches are opened too early so that the wound has not healed completely, and become an entry point for germs to cause infection. This condition certainly needs to be discussed further with the doctor who treats your wound. Consumption of nutritious food, and adequate rest is one of the important factors that determine the effectiveness of wound healing. Here we attach an article about surgical wound infections.
