The Test Result Is Still Positive After The Miscarriage?
I want to ask… I’m only 4 weeks pregnant. I had stomach cramps., backache… and blood came out and blood clots came out too., only 3 days of bleeding.. but it’s also spotty. I’ve had 2 x ultrasounds but the midwife said my obstetrician was empty… for 3 days I checked the test was still positive. I’m still pregnant or not huh…??
Bleeding that occurs early in pregnancy should indeed be suspected as a miscarriage process, especially when clots have occurred which may not come from blood, but from fetal tissue. However, even after a miscarriage, the body usually still produces the hormone beta-HCG or at least its levels can still be detected in the blood for several days and weeks. This may show a false positive result on a testpack examination, which is a positive result in a condition that is no longer pregnant. Of course, this should be further checked by an obstetrician through a more accurate ultrasound examination. This is important to determine whether a true miscarriage has occurred, and whether further measures such as curettage are needed to restore the uterus to its original condition. Here we attach an article about miscarriage. Hope it is useful.
