The Third HPV Injection Is 3 Months Behind Schedule. Do I Have To Start Over?
Hi, I want to ask about the HPV vaccine. I did the first injection of the HPV vaccine on July 1, 2018. I should have had the second injection on September 29, 2018 but I forgot. Because I use insurance, the insurance asks me for a third injection (January 2019) Do I have to repeat the first injection, or can this January 2019 count as a second injection? Please enlighten me Thank you
Hello Ratna, thank you for asking at HealthReplies.com.
Based on the latest recommendations available, someone who is undergoing HPV vaccination and is experiencing delays to get the next injection (second or third injection) does not need to repeat the vaccine from the beginning again, just continue and complete the vaccination that has already begun. Seeing your current situation, you do not need to repeat the vaccination, but the injection that will be carried out in January will still be considered as the second injection, and later the doctor who gives you the vaccination will readjust the third vaccination schedule.
Henceforth, it is expected that you will not be late returning and continue to finish the last dose of vaccination so that the vaccination given can provide a truly optimal protective effect.

I hope this helps.
