Hello Ade,

Thank you for the question.

Blocking in the throat and heat in the chest can be many possible triggers, the most common is GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease). This condition occurs when the esophageal and stomach limiting valves fail to close completely, causing some of the acid from the stomach to rise and irritate the esophagus and cause sensations of lumps, heat, aching, nausea, tightness, phlegm, pain, itching, and many others.

Not just GERD, other factors, such as viral or bacterial infections (including Corona virus that causes COVID-19), allergies or irritation around the airway or digestion, foreign body aspiration, laryngitis, benign or malignant tumors, bronchitis, pneumonia, excessive anxiety disorders , psychosomatic disorders, panic attacks, heart problems, and so on can cause complaints like you're experiencing.

Better, if the complaint feels mild, you should not panic. Relieve your complaints by getting lots of rest, eat small portions but often, reduce the consumption of fatty and gassing foods, don't lie down right after eating, don't over-drink alcoholic drinks, warm compresses of the chest and neck that feel uncomfortable, maintain ideal body weight, sleep more early, do not smoke, and also do not carelessly take medicine.

If the complaint feels increasingly aggravating, appearing tightness or severe vomiting, and if you feel you've been in contact with sufferers / suspects of COVID-19, living or having traveled to an area with an outbreak of COVID-19, then you can check yourself directly to the nearest doctor so that further handling recommendations are given. It could be, later the doctor will refer you to a doctor in internal medicine if necessary.

I hope this helps.
