The Time Is Right For Giving Complementary Foods To Premature Babies?
, I want to ask. My child was born at 34w. Now he is 5m. Correction age is 3m. How do you get it? Follow the birth age or correction age right?
Hello Nur Yelly,
MPASI itself is food to complement breast milk that can be given when the baby is 6 months old. Giving complementary foods to children should be done in stages starting from the smoothest to the introduction of solid foods. You can give complementary foods starting from crushed foods such as milk porridge, mashed vegetables and fruit, boiled rice, or mashed and filtered porridge. Vegetables or fruits that can be tried for your child such as bananas, avocados, melons and potatoes. The portion of the meal should be small but often compared to one meal but a lot. Examples of complementary foods for 6 months old babies are:
Breast milk is still given as usual At 9 am give milk porridge / fruit juice During the day give filtered porridge / rice team In the afternoon give mashed fruit or vegetables It is recommended to make a different menu every day as an effort to recognize the taste Avoid making unusual menus / odd, for example rice with bananas If your baby is used to vegetables and fruit, you can try adding mashed chicken, liver, egg, or fish together with the porridge / rice team. Do not add MSG / flavor, salt, sugar to the children under 1 year of age with the aim that the children will not be picky eaters when they grow up. If you want to add flavor, you can use real vegetable / chicken broth for savory taste, and for sweet taste you can add fruit juice. You can try to reintroduce the next day. Make the atmosphere enjoyable for eating and avoid forcing children to finish their food right away because at this age babies eat because they are hungry, not because they want to.
Next, I attach our article about complementary foods to add insight.
