The Toenail Of The Big Toe Is Suddenly Bruised?
Good morning doctor, my child is 12 years old today I see the big toe of his right foot and left, his nails are black, why are you? And how do you do it, thanks for the answer
Hello Asihsutatsih, Thank you for the question.
Bruises / bruises generally occur due to an injury or impact. Bruising occurs when the blood vessels under the skin break and blood collects under the skin. This blood that collects under the skin gives a blue, purple, red, or black appearance. Apart from being impacted, bruises can also appear if a person does strenuous exercise and it is not uncommon for bruises to appear without an obvious cause. Bruises that appear after the impact will usually go away on their own in 2-4 weeks.
What you can do in the first 72 hours after the appearance of the bruise is to apply an ice pack to the bruise. You can take some ice wrapped in a towel and place it over the bruise for 20-30 minutes. This compression can be repeated. The goal is to shrink the blood vessels so that the bruise doesn't get bigger. After 3 days if the bruise is still visible, you can apply a warm compress to the bruise. The warm compress aims to open the blood vessels so that the blood that has collected under the skin can be reabsorbed by the body.
Apart from collisions and sports, bruises can also be caused by blood clotting disorders. Please check your child's condition if your child has bruises more often than usual, bruises are accompanied by pain and swelling, bruises under the toenails are accompanied by pain, or if the bruises do not subside after 2 weeks.
