The Use Of Antihistamines For Babies 9 Months?
Good evening doctor. Please explain whether colergis syrup and cerrup syrup are allowed for 9-month babies. If you can, how much should you measure? Thank you very much I say
Good afternoon, thanks for the question
Cerini syrup contains cetirizine. Cetirizine is an anti-histamine class of drugs that works to reduce levels of natural histamine in the body due to several conditions. High histamine causes several symptoms such as sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and colds. Ceirizine is used to treat colds or allergic symptoms. Cetirizine can also be used to reduce symptoms of urticaria or hives. Its use is quite safe for babies over 6 months.
Colergis syrup contains betamethasone and anti-histamine, dexchlorpheniramine maleate. Betamethasone is a class of synthetic steroid drugs which is a very potent anti-inflammatory so it is widely used for diseases that involve inflammatory mechanisms and in autoimmune diseases. Even so the long-term side effects of this type of drug cannot be underestimated such as reduced calcium levels in the bones, thinning of the skin, impaired distribution of body fat, hypertension, and so forth. For this the use of drugs must be under a doctor's companion based on medical indications and the right dosage.
All medicines given for babies and children are based on body weight to prevent overdosing on drugs and side effects, so we recommend that you consult your baby's condition with your doctor to get adequate treatment. Avoid using drugs outside of doctor's prescriptions, especially for babies and children.
That's all, hope you can help. Wassalam
