Hello Mayalika,

Thank you for asking HealthReplies.com.

As the name suggests, 3-month injectable birth control effectively protects users from the risk of pregnancy within a period of 3 months (12 weeks) from the beginning of its use. If you have stopped injecting birth control after it has expired, and you have not yet used any other contraception, then you have sexual relations with your partner without using protection, then you have the potential to become pregnant. And women who are pregnant are not advised to use hormonal contraception, including birth control pills.

Pregnant or not, and whether a woman is fertile or not, cannot be determined just by observing her menstrual bleeding patterns. You need to see yourself directly to a doctor or obstetrician to undergo a series of examinations, for example blood tests, urine tests, or maybe also an ultrasound. If it is confirmed that you are not pregnant, then the doctor will allow you to use contraception. The selection of this type of contraception is also not purely determined by the wishes of its users (in this case you yourself), but must also be done by considering your posture, your general health condition, plans for future pregnancy back, and so on. Therefore, consult with your doctor a lot before deciding to use any contraception.

I hope this helps.
