The Use Of Moisturizers For The Face In The Morning?
Hello doctor, if you use moisturizer in the morning before leaving for school, can you use sunscreen after using moisturizer? Or just use sunscreen only? Thank you
Moisturizer and sunscreen are both important in skin care. Moisturizer serves to keep the skin moist so that the skin does not dry and dehydrate. While sunscreen is useful for protecting the skin from sun exposure.
Exposure to excessive sunlight can cause sunburn, skin darkening, dark spots appear, premature aging, to increase the risk of skin cancer. Therefore it is very important to use sunscreen every day in the morning.
You should choose a sunscreen that suits your skin type and use a sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 15. If you are more often under the hot sun or have a fair skintone, you can choose an SPF 30 sunscreen. The SPF / sun protection factor shows protection against UVB rays. For UVA protection, choose a sunscreen labeled PA +, the more "+" signs, the better UVA protection. For some brands may not use the PA + label but replaced with a PPD label that shows UVA protection. Some brands also include the term broad spectrum which means it already contains protection against UVA and UVB.
The use of sunscreen also needs attention. If the moisturizer / moisturizer already contains SPF and PA + then you may not use additional sunscreen. But keep in mind that sunscreen protection does not last all day and requires reapply sunscreen every 2-4 hours or when exposed to water and sweat in order to get maximum protection. If you already use an SPF moisturizer, you only need to use the moisturizer, but you should still reapply the sunscreen every 2-4 hours.
Hope it helps you,
