Hello Niken Suwatik,
Furuncles (boils) can form due to skin infections in the ear canal (outer ear) which are often caused by bacteria. Boils are marked with lumps with a firm border, redness, pain when pressed, a time can rupture and discharge pus.
The diagnosis of ear canal ulcers can be easily determined from the history and examination of the ear canal. Handling is primarily the management of pain. Patients can be given pain relievers, some pain relievers such as Paracetamol are safe for pregnant and breastfeeding women. In addition, you can compress the area around the ear with warm water, but make sure the ear canal back to dry / not wet. Do not try to solve the ulcers themselves, because later there will potentially be more severe infections (if the equipment used is dirty).
If within 2 weeks, the boil does not break, please consult further with your doctor. Consultation with an ENT doctor is also needed if ear ulcers recur, cause intense pain, or are accompanied by significant hearing loss.
Thus the explanation from me, hopefully useful.
