I am 27 years old, I have 2 children aged 2y4m and 6m. when the first child was born, I did not immediately menstruate, the first menstruation when the child is 6m old and immediately went smoothly every month. When my second child was 4m I experienced spots for 3 days, while 5m I menstruated for 15 days, now I haven’t menstruated. 2 weeks ago when I tested the pack 2x negative results, when I checked with the doctor the results were only thickening of the uterine wall. I am exclusive breastfeeding and my teenage cycle is always appropriate (28 days with a menstrual period of 10 days) My question1. Do I need an ultrasound anymore? 2. Are these my signs of pregnancy / menstruation?

1 Answer:

Hello. Thank you for the question submitted to HealthReplies.com. We understand the concern you feel.

Pregnancy occurs when a woman's egg is successfully fertilized by a male sperm cell. Amenorrhoea (not menstruation) is one of the presumptive symptoms of pregnancy, the symptoms that appear indicate the possibility of pregnancy. However, amenorrhoea can only be relied upon as a presumptive symptom of pregnancy in women with regular menstrual cycles. Some other presumptive symptoms of pregnancy include:

Nausea and vomiting
Changes in the urinary tract (example: urinating more often, including at night)
Changes in the breast (example: enlarged, discolored, exited colostrum)
Changes in the skin (for example: black lines on the abdomen, stretch marks, visible dilation of skin capillaries)

To be able to ascertain whether pregnancy occurs, you are advised to check directly with a doctor, midwife, or obstetrician and gynecologist. The doctor will conduct an history. physical examination, and supporting examination if there are indications, for example: ultrasound examination [USG]) obstetrics. The evaluation by the doctor aims to identify definite signs of pregnancy, including:

Identification of the gestational sac, embryo, or fetus on ultrasound examination
The presence of fetal heart rate on examination with Doppler ultrasound (starting week 10) or Laenec fetoscope aids (starting week 18-20)
Fetal palpation on physical examination (starting 22 weeks)

The need for an ultrasound examination should be determined based on the results of the history and physical examination by the doctor. As a recommendation at home, you are advised to get enough rest, eat a balanced nutritious meal, and drink at least 8 glasses of water per day. If you haven't visited the doctor yet, you can also do a test pack check regularly.
