Thigh Muscles Often Twitch And Tremble?
Doctor, this week I have experienced a continuous rhythmic tremor above the left (thigh). The vibration model is like a flowing current so it disturbs my thoughts and sleep. sometimes it appears sometimes lost when I am active .. And I try to pat my thighs, which feels a sense of ngreyeng (someone is walking), it doesn’t hurt but is annoying, sometimes it’s just like a throbbing person. If I go to the doctor, what doctor is suitable for, I have I was told to the neurologist that there was nothing wrong with it, just stress. Even though I was not under stress, and I never experienced this before. I was worried. What is this pain. Request information from the doctor. thank you
Good morning, thanks for the question
Muscle twitching or in medical terms is called fasciculation is a muscle movement that is unconscious and cannot be controlled by the body. This movement does not cause pain but often causes the sufferer to feel uncomfortable and disturbed. Complaints of fasciculation appear when the muscles are resting and will decrease when the muscles begin to contract consciously.
Fasciculations often appear in the thigh and calf muscles. Conditions like this are mostly mild and harmless. It also does not indicate a serious neuromuscular disorder.
Several studies have reported that there is an association between fasciculations and the following conditions, such as:
3. Anxiety or depression
4. Vigorous exercise
5. Consumption of alcohol or caffeine
7. Viral infection
The tests that can be done to evaluate this condition are an electromyography (EMG) examination, blood tests, and a physical examination of the nerves. There is no specific therapy to cure fasciculations, because most of the symptoms go away on their own.
When fasciculation occurs, do regular stretching of the muscles, avoiding the risk factors that have been mentioned to reduce recurrence.
So, hopefully this information can help
