Hi Ryn,

Thank you for asking HealthReplies.com.

In women with regular menstrual cycles, late menstruation may indeed indicate pregnancy. However, if you previously often experience irregular menstruation, before assuming that you are pregnant, you should also consider other possible causes that can make menstruation come late, including impaired hormonal balance, changes in body weight that is quite drastic, side effects of birth control, ovarian cysts , thyroid gland abnormalities, and so on.

Therefore, without intending to downplay your expectations, it is possible that you may be pregnant, but it's not certain. In addition to late menstruation, often, pregnant women will also experience a variety of subjective signs of pregnancy, such as dizziness, nausea, bloating, weakness, fatigue, more sensitive breasts, frequent urination, and so on. However, these complaints can be very subjective so other checks need to be done to confirm them.

To be sure, is it true that your menstrual delay is caused by pregnancy, one of the steps you can take is to do a testpack. This testpack, according to many sources, is more accurate if done after a delay in menstruation for 1 week or more. It's okay to do a testpack early. However, to be sure, it is recommended to do a re-examination 3 to 7 days later. Choose the testpack tool that has the highest sensitivity (close to 100%). Or, it could also, so that the results obtained are more accurate, you consult directly with your doctor or obstetrician to get a pregnancy check through a blood test, ultrasound, or other supporting tests.

Hope this helps ...
