Thrush In Babies?
good afternoon Hello doctor, I’m rizka, I want to ask a question, my son is 7 months old, his mouth is sore, his lips are chapped and his back lip is white so it’s hard to eat. what is the medicine for babies with thrush? Thank you in advance
Thank you for your question.
For your information, canker sores are actually rare in babies, especially babies aged 10 months and under. However, it is possible for the baby to experience this.
Although the cause has not been determined, here are some things that can trigger thrush in babies, namely: trauma to the mouth, food allergies, eating too many acidic fruits such as oranges or tomatoes, deficiency of certain vitamins, viral infections, heredity.
The condition experienced by your child can actually go away on its own in about 7 days to 21 days while the pain can last up to 1.5 weeks.
Basically as long as the child has thrush, avoid giving him food that is too hot and acidic. Give soft textured food and cold temperature.
Take care of your child's oral hygiene by brushing their teeth with a special baby toothbrush. Do this twice a day to get rid of food residue that triggers this health disorder.
If the thrush gets worse and your child doesn't want to eat anything, we suggest that you immediately see a pediatrician, and discuss this issue, so that your child can be treated with a series of further treatments.
Thus the explanation that we can convey, may be useful.
