Time For Injections Of KB 3 Months?
…rnI want to ask, I should have returned the injection on January 4, 2018 but I was 5 days late and the midwife said I couldn’t inject the KB again until today I haven’t had another injection, when can I get another 3 months?
Hi Devi, Thanks for asking at HealthReplies.com. Injectable contraception is a method of thinning/delaying pregnancy by utilizing hormone levels in the body. In Indonesia, there are two types of injectable family planning based on the duration, namely 1 month and 3 months. The difference between the two types of family planning, apart from the timing, is also the hormonal component.
For those who are doing it for the first time, the 3-month injection KB should be injected during the first 5 days of menstruation so that it can be immediately effective and protect you from pregnancy. This is because if it is done outside of that, it will only be effective 7 days later. Subsequent injections can be carried out according to schedule. This injectable birth control after the injection will last for 8-13 weeks before the levels run out in the blood and after the levels run out, it will take at least 4-12 months for you to get pregnant again.
So in your case, 5 days late shouldn't be a problem because it hasn't reached the 13 week limit. Even if there are other things that the midwife considers, maybe your medical condition or something like that, our advice is to discuss it with your obstetrician. But if there are no problems, then you can re-inject kb whenever you want.
So, hopefully useful.
