Toothache And Earache Due To Cavities?
I want to ask that I have cavities and yesterday I went to the dentist and put on a temporary patch and I was told to come again next week. But I feel tooth ache again and feel pain in my ear and I haven’t gone to the doctor again how to cope with toothache and pain in his ear
Thank you for your question.
Dental fillings are a procedure performed to fill cavities. Cavities themselves arise due to bacteria in the teeth to produce acids which in turn damage tooth tissue. Dental fillings are done aiming to restore the shape and function of the teeth as before, reducing the number of dental bacteria, maintaining the shape of the jaw and facial contours.
Dental fillings can be divided into 2 types, permanent and temporary fillings. Permanent patching is done if there is no severe damage. While the temporary patch is done when the tooth is damaged and there are some bacteria in it.
Dental fillings that are seriously damaged cannot be done directly, must be done in stages, therefore some dentists have reasons why they are done in temporary patches, for example: repairing the roots in a tooth with medicine first, shutting down the nerves inside teeth, and treat infections that are in preformance of the teeth. Therefore, temporary tooth filling requires a week and will be rechecked. If the tooth condition has started to improve, permanent dental fillings will be done.
Based on the complaint you are complaining about, you should have your teeth checked again by the dentist who is treating you. Because basically dental fillings are not as strong as permanent, so they can cause recurrent dental infections.
