Treat Coughs In Children Aged 3 Years?
Hello,. R nI want to ask, my child is under 3 years of age, 2 years and 7 months to be exact. R n My child, if after playing jumping around and laughing, is very happy, in the end there will be a cough but not phlegm, but it doesn’t bother me. at bedtime, sleep at night / day is always good, is that normal? What are the cough symptoms? Please answer, thank you
Coughing in children that occurs shortly after or while playing activities and laughing that is too loud, can happen and is normal because usually there will be a little trouble catching their breath or choking on their saliva.
However, if the cough occurs after a long period of time, or does not go away on its own, it could be caused by several possibilities, such as:
ARI Asthma Bronchitis
ARI is an upper respiratory infection that can be caused by various things such as viruses, bacteria or others that can cause coughing. Bronchitis or inflammation of the middle airway can be a cause of coughing. Asthma is a chronic inflammatory condition of the airways which can be characterized by coughing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, wheezing and disruption of breath.
If indeed your child's cough often occurs or does not heal immediately, it's a good idea to get your child checked by a doctor. It takes a more complete history and examination directly to distinguish what happened to your child. Without it, doctors cannot determine the condition. If you really need therapy, it will be given by a doctor according to your child.
I hope this helps.
