Treating Bleeding Nipples While Breastfeeding?
Good afternoon, r nI want to ask. I am still breastfeeding my child, my child is 1.5 years old. While breastfeeding my child bit (slightly pulled) the nipple. When I checked the LGS, it turned out that they were blistered and slightly bleeding. What should I do?
When breastfeeding, sometimes the nipple becomes sore, either because the mouth and nipple are not properly attached, or because the baby is biting the nipple. The presence of blistered nipples can certainly interfere with the breastfeeding process.
There are some tips you can do to help treat sore nipples below:
Apply breast milk to the nipples before and after breastfeeding
Use a bra that is comfortable and not tight
Use medical tape or breast pads on the sore nipple if you feel your nipple hurt when rubbing against a bra or clothing
Apply ointment or cream for nipple care / nursing cream that is widely sold in pharmacies and supermarkets, don't forget to clean the nipples before breastfeeding the baby with boiled water
If the breast milk is fed directly / direct breast feeding, there is no problem with the nipple is blistered, but if the milk is pumped and then mixes with blood, discard the ASIP mixed with blood
If the nipple is not getting better soon, you can see a doctor directly so that you can give more optimal treatment to support the healing of the nipple.
