Treatment After Fractional CO2 Laser

In the afternoon, doctor, I was after a fractional co2 laser for acne scars. I am not recommended to use cream and facial wash that contain salicylic acid. Why is that? And if it’s not allowed, how long will it take so I can use a product that has salicylic acid? The thing is that the facial washing soap that I usually use has salicylic acid. Thanks.

Hello Dicky,
Thank you for asking at HealthReplies.com.
A fractional CO2 laser is a type of ablative laser commonly used to treat scars, warts, wrinkles, and so on. You can wash your face after 12 hours post-treatment but by using a mild facial cleanser. If you use treatments containing tretinoin, glycolic acid, or salicylic acid, you can continue to use them for at least 14 days after a fractional CO2 laser. But for more certain you can consult your dermatologist about it because for each different skin type will certainly be different handling.
So, hopefully useful.
