Treatment For Brain Tumors?
Hello, I would like to ask, my aunt was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor measuring approximately 7cm. The symptoms experienced are stroke, nausea and dizziness. Is this disease a cancer based on its size? And whether surgical removal is the best so that it will be cured soon given the size of the tumor is large enough
Hello Sinta Sukesi,
Brain tumor is a term for abnormal growth of tissue in the brain. These tumors can originate from brain tissue called primary brain tumors, or tumors that grow in other parts of the body and then spread to the brain (metastasize) called secondary brain tumors. This abnormal tissue is usually called a tumor if it is benign and is called cancer if it is malignant.
Malignant tumors or brain cancer are said to be based on several judgments, such as the rate at which cells grow, the location of their spread and how they spread. That way the size of the tumor experienced by your aunt is not the main benchmark in determining the type of cancer or not.
Regarding healing, surgery is one of the treatments that can be chosen. Various alternative treatments such as radiotherapy, chemotherapy, drugs to surgery / tissue removal are adjusted to the type of tumor being experienced. In cases of brain cancer, doctors generally recommend surgical removal of the tissue, while the remaining tissue that cannot be removed is cured through other alternatives such as radiotherapy or chemotherapy.
so hopefully answer
