Treatment For Foot Injuries Due To Exposure To Broken Plates?
Hello, a few days ago my right toe was accidentally hit by a glass plate, which was kicked. Now I cleaned it and then used antiseptic and covered with gauze, it’s been 3 days and the wound is quite dry but I haven’t dared to take it off except to change the gauze. Sometimes the wound feels itchy, is that dangerous? Then every time I use sandals I want to come out with wounds which originally didn’t hurt And the wound is quite inside … How should I do it?
Thank you for asking HealthReplies.com.
If you take good care of your wounds, often, a wound caused by pierced glass is not a dangerous condition. The pain you feel, as long as the intensity is mild, does not appear accompanied by swelling, sores that are wet or suppurating, fever, or other complaints, and generally will improve on its own in a few days. The condition of your wound that feels itchy usually indicates a healing process that is not dangerous.
However, if you find that the pain that appears is very great, we recommend that you continue to see your doctor. It is feared, the pain occurs due to secondary infection of the wound, or injury to the deeper toe components. It is necessary to do a doctor's examination directly so that this condition can be handled properly.
At home, we recommend that you first make the following efforts:
Clean the wound periodically morning and evening, use clean gauze, wet with NaCl liquid, do not close it too tight
Not always using narrow footwear
Also do not use wet or dirty footwear
Do not hold wounds with dirty hands
Do not carelessly provide other treatment for wounds without doctor's advice
Expand to rest, raise your legs while sleeping
Hope this helps ...
