Excuse me, at school I joined the tug of war, then the rope rubbed against my hand so my hand was like a blister. The wound is quite a lot but I’m confused about what to treat. What type of medicine is suitable? Can you use betadine if you treat it?

1 Answer:

Hello Lala Lalisa,

Friction wounds can form blisters. The blister cuts on the surface layer of the skin so that usually a little blood comes out. Sores can heal on their own as long as we create a clean area for the wound healing process.

When new wounds occur, clean the wound with running water and soap or with normal saline, if any. Betadine / povidone iodine can be used for antiseptic action of the wound, but its administration will give a sore / stinging feeling. Antibiotics in the form of ointments can only be applied if the wound is guaranteed clean, because if the treatment is not right the ointment media can instead become a growth medium for germs. If you have dirty activities, please cover the wound with sterile gauze that you try to replace every day or more often if it is wet / dirty. Take painkillers if necessary.

If redness appears around the skin, swollen, pus out of the wound, and there is a fever, you should see a doctor. Thus the explanation from me, may be useful.
