The skin on my thumb has been peeling for about 3 months and it hasn’t healed. The skin on my finger is peeling and my nails feel like they’re rotting. I’ve been given ointment but it hasn’t healed. How is it handled? Thank you

1 Answer:

good goddess,

Medically the condition of peeling fingers is known as desquamation, which is where the process of changing a person's skin that should not be invisible because it occurs smoothly, is actually clearly visible. This condition occurs due to a process that is disrupted in skin function which can be caused by several factors such as:

skin infections caused by fungi, bacteria or viruses
skin too dry
long time in the sun
Burns
exposure to products containing chemicals such as detergents
cancer treatment effect
side effects of drugs
Autoimmune diseases such as psoriasis

Skin that appears peeling is actually replaced by new, immature tissue. This causes the function of the skin as one of the body's main barriers to infection to be disrupted so that a person can become infected more easily. Therefore, if complaints often occur even though you have been given cream, it is important for you to immediately consult a doctor. Here we attach an article about peeling skin. May be useful.
