Treats Itchy Burns?
I was only given bioplacenton with amoxicillin, but why does it itch?
Hi Youkasah, Thank you for the question.
Burns occur due to heat which causes damage to the skin tissue that can feel sore and painful. Burned skin will become red, swell, peel, blister, or darken. Burn treatment depends on the severity of the burn, the location of the burn, the age of the patient, and the cause of the burn.
You can treat minor burns yourself at home by cleaning the wound every day with antiseptic liquid or normal saline (infusion fluid) and then applying antibiotics. Bioplacenton is a trademark of a drug containing placenta extract and the antibiotic neomycin sulfate which is widely used to treat burns. Doctors also often give antibiotics tablets to prevent infection because there are wounds on the skin that are prone to infection. Meanwhile, to treat pain you can take paracetamol or other pain medications that are given by a doctor. Amoxicillin is an antibiotic that can be used to treat infections of the skin. The usual dosage is 500 mg/1 tablet, taken every 8 hours. However, you should check with the doctor who gave the drug to confirm the dosage.
Please keep the burn dry and clean. Avoid contact with water until the wound dries. If the wound condition worsens, there are signs of infection such as more swelling, redness, pus discharge, more pain, or you have a fever, please consult your doctor again immediately for further examination and treatment.
Hope this information is useful.
