Urine Contains +1 Protein At 24 Weeks’ Gestation?
good morning, i want to ask, i am 24w pregnant and lab results show that urine contains protein +1, what is the cause and how is the solution ?? is it dangerous for my pregnancy ?? thank you
Hello Susi Wulandari,
Proteinuria is the discovery of protein in urine / urine. Proteinuria during pregnancy can occur in the following conditions and diseases:
Preeclampsia, eclampspsia. Characterized by increased blood pressure, a sign of damage to organs, especially the kidneys that result in proteinuria. Symptoms of preeclampsia occur after gestational age> 20 weeks. Symptoms of preeclampsia will disappear after the baby is born. But in some cases high blood pressure can persist. Preeclampsia must be treated properly, because if it can not cause interference with the fetus and threaten the life of the mother.
Urinary tract infection
Kidney disease (already suffered before pregnancy)
Take certain medicines
Proteinuria in pregnant women should be examined to find out the cause. Treatment will be given according to the underlying cause. In preeclampsia for example drugs will be given to lower blood pressure, proteinuria usually disappears some time after giving birth. Urinary tract infections are treated with antibiotics.
Avoid indiscriminate use of drugs that have unclear efficacy and benefits during pregnancy. Avoid excessive salt consumption. Check blood pressure regularly during pregnancy, re-evaluate the results of protein in the urine after 1 month (try to use urine for 24 hours or carried out in a trusted laboratory for accurate results). Consult further about your condition with obstetricians. Thus the explanation from me, hopefully useful.
