Use 2 Different Skincare Types Simultaneously?
I want to ask, lately I use skincare products that contain niaciamide as serum (somethic niaciamide). In addition, I also use a product that contains centela aciantica as ampoul (Madagascar 1004). Can the two products be used together? Because I want to get rid of acne scars but there is still redness
Niacinamide or nicotinamide acid is a form of vitamin B3 that is often used in facial care products. Topical application of niacinamide (applied to the skin) can have a stabilizing effect on the function of the epidermal layer which is characterized by reduced evaporation of water from the skin and improvement of moisture in the horny layer of the skin. Other than the effects of niacinamide are:
Increases keratin protein synthesis
Speed up keratinocyte differentiation
Increasing NADP levels in cells that play a role in cell protection against free radicals and glutathione regeneration
Therefore niacinamide is widely used in anti-aging products or to reduce acne scars / scars because it has the benefits of improving skin surface conditions, disguising facial wrinkles, and protecting the skin from photocarcinogenesis (reducing the risk of skin cancer). Niacinamide is also very potential to overcome the problem of skin pigmentation and rosacea.
Use niacinamide in accordance with the instructions for use on the packaging. If you have sensitive skin, use a little on certain skin areas and see the changes in your skin. Use enough products, no need to be too thick / much. Wear serum after the face is cleaned properly. At the beginning of use some people may experience irritation (skin redness, it feels hot, peeling) but usually will disappear after several uses. Generally the 5% niacinamide percentage is effective enough to deal with skin problems and is safe enough not to cause irritation.
Centella asiatica is a type of plant that is also now being popularly used in various beauty products. In animal experiments, Centella asiatica extract can accelerate wound healing by accelerating cell regeneration and collagen formation. In other laboratory experiments Centella asiatica can prevent the formation of hypertrophic or keloid scarring and prevent hyperpigmentation. In addition, Centella asiatica also has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and enhances the work of other antioxidants.
Most of the facial care products in circulation contain content that is not single but a combination of various active ingredients. Niacinamide can be combined with Centella asiatica extract. In fact some facial care products contain both of them in the same product. The results of facial treatments using topical products are usually not instant. Use these products regularly and precisely in order to get the maximum treatment effect. Please consult further with a dermatologist if at the time of use these products appear increasingly severe skin irritation. Thus the explanation from me, hopefully useful.
