Use Of Olive Oil To Treat Injuries Caused By Accidents?
Is olive oil good for treating accidental wounds? Thank you
Accidental injuries are injuries that are often experienced by a person, whether it's just an ordinary and minor accident such as a fall or maybe an accident that occurs quite often and can be severe as in a traffic accident. But please note that a wound has a classification, whether the wound is light, heavy, clean or dirty and others. By knowing the classification of the wound, it will also determine the treatment of the wound.
For example, a scratch that may be dirty may be handled by cleaning it properly and keeping the wound clean and it will heal itself. However, in deeper and/or dirty wounds, better care may be needed because of the risk of foreign bodies or infection. If the wound is more severe, better measures are needed such as maintaining sterility in treating the wound.
Olive oil in some studies does have substances that may be good for antibacterial, but until now it is not an option in wound care. So, it is feared that the wound experienced cannot get the expected results or it can cause unwanted things such as infections, allergies and others.
It is better if the wound experienced is treated by health personnel for the various reasons previously mentioned.
I hope this helps.
