Hello, thank you for asking at HealthReplies.com
Normal cholesterol is in our body and is needed to maintain a healthy body. There are 2 types, namely good and bad cholesterol. Regarding this matter, you can read more about it here. However, if excessive cholesterol levels in the blood, it can cause hypercholesterol conditions. This condition is known from laboratory tests of lipid profile blood. If you get a blood cholesterol test results 240 mg / dl or more, it is called high cholesterol. A person with high cholesterol has a high risk of having heart disease, stroke, and other illnesses due to poor blood circulation.
Fish oil contains omega 3 fatty acids, this is a good food for maintaining heart health. However, it cannot reduce bad cholesterol levels. But, it can reduce triglyceride levels. Triglycerides are a type of fat that can also cause heart disease and stroke if the levels are high in the blood.
You can consume these supplements, however, along with consuming foods high in fiber and foods high in good cholesterol in order to reduce and control bad cholesterol levels. Apart from the supplements you mentioned, you can also get omega-3 fatty acids by eating natural foods such as salmon, mackerel, sardines, herring, tuna, and trout. While fiber you can get by eating oatmeal, nuts and fruits. Meanwhile, to get good cholesterol you can consume olive oil.
Thus hopefully useful.
