Use Skincare For Facial Care?
Hello, so I’m doing facial treatment using tretinoin (ie vitacid) as a night cream and is it okay if my facial wash contains citric acid? Is it okay with tretinoin to meet citric acid? Explanation please
Hello, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com
As explained in the previous question in the following link https: //www.HealthReplies.com/community/topic/skincare-19, tretinoin is a hard drug that you should not use without checking from your doctor first. As an alternative to tretinoin, you can use another vitamin A derivative, retinol, which has a lower potential than tretinoin that can be purchased freely. If it is your doctor who prescribes tretinoin, then you may use tretinoin together with a facial wash product that contains citric acid.
Citric acid is one type of Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) which is a natural acid derived from plants or animals (citric acid obtained from citrus plants). One function of AHA is to help increase the absorption of other skin care products such as tretinoin or retinol. Therefore you may only use products that contain citric acid together with products containing tretinoin or retinol. You need to remember that increasing the absorption of the product into the skin will increase the potential of the drug and its side effects. Therefore, it is very possible that your skin will become drier, redder, and appear scaly especially at the beginning of use. Make sure you use a good facial moisturizer and also make sure you use sunscreen when leaving the house in the morning and afternoon because your skin will be more sensitive when exposed to the sun.
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
