Vaginal Discharge At 33 Weeks Pregnant?
, I want to ask, I am currently 33 weeks pregnant during my pregnancy why I often have greenish vaginal discharge and smell bad. Do you think there is a solution or not?rnIs it dangerous for my fetus?
Thank you for asking HealthReplies.com.
Abnormal vaginal discharge during pregnancy should receive special attention. Because, if you don't get adequate treatment, inflammation of the reproductive organs due to vaginal discharge can spread to the uterus and membranes. As a result, infection can occur in the amniotic fluid or it can trigger premature contractions. Both of these conditions are certainly not good for the continuity of your pregnancy.
Vaginal discharge that is green in color and smells bad is most likely due to a bacterial infection. One of the most common bacteria that causes vaginal discharge is Trichomonas vaginalis. Even so, it is also possible that your vaginal discharge is caused by infection with other microorganisms, such as fungal, viral, or even parasitic infections. In fact, other factors may also aggravate vaginal discharge during pregnancy, such as stress or irritation, such as the use of soap, detergent, condoms, or spermicide.
To prevent unwanted complications, you should immediately consult a gynecologist. Generally, in addition to a physical examination, your doctor will recommend that you undergo a urine test, ultrasound, and/or a sample of vaginal discharge for microscopic examination in a laboratory. By identifying the cause of the vaginal discharge, then treatment can be carried out on target.
To help relieve vaginal discharge, you should always rinse your intimate organs after every urination or defecation. Rinse gently from the direction of the vagina to the anus (not vice versa). After that, dry your genitals properly using a clean tissue, then use clean underwear. Avoid stress or risky sexual activities (eg changing sexual partners and having sex with prostitutes).
I hope this helps.
