Hello, thanks for your question
Although vaginal discharge is a common condition experienced by women before menstruation, during ovulation, or during pregnancy, if the vaginal discharge persists and in large quantities, it is necessary to pay close attention to the possibility of having a sexually transmitted infection. Especially if the vaginal discharge is not in accordance with the characteristics of normal vaginal discharge. The criteria for normal vaginal discharge are:
clear/clear, sometimes slightly whitish, no sharp or fishy odor, not accompanied by itching or pain around the genital area. Green discharge indicates a pathological process. The most common underlying cause of vaginal discharge with this description is a parasitic infection, called trichomoniasis. This disease includes sexually transmitted infections that are spread through sexual contact with sufferers.
Even if a parasitic infection is suspected, a doctor's examination, especially a dermatologist and genital specialist, is highly recommended. Not infrequently parasitic infections occur together with fungal infections or other causes of vaginal discharge. Through an examination of your vaginal area followed by a vaginal fluid sample examination, the doctor will determine the cause so that he can determine the right treatment. Inappropriate treatment leads to non-healing or recurrence in the future.
While waiting for a doctor's examination and treatment, keep your feminine area clean. Please read more here
