Vaginal Examination Lab Results?
, I want to ask, my wife has done an examination through the lab and the results are as follows:
Good evening, thanks for the question
On the results of examination of vaginal intake if found large gram-positive rod bacteria are generally classified as normal flora or normal microorganisms found in healthy women. Normal flora acts as a mechanism of vaginal defense. The most normal bacterial flora in the vagina is Lactobacillus sp. which is able to create an acidic atmosphere in the vagina and acts as an antimicrobial. The more numbers, the better.
The results of the examination of the presence of gram-negative bacteria accompanied by increased leukocytes indicate that there is a pathogenic bacterial infection in the vagina. Examples of pathogenic gram-negative bacteria such as Gardnerella vaginalis cause vaginal discharge such as fishy odor, or Chlamydia trachomatis which is classified as a sexually transmitted disease. In this examination Gram negative dipplococcus was not found which means that it did not lead to a diagnosis of gonorrhea.
It is better to consult further with the treating doctor to confirm the perceived complaint and the results of the examination and determine the treatment.
To prevent recurring events, note the following:
1. Clean the vagina with a cleanser that does not disturb the acidic atmosphere in the vagina
2. Always dry the vagina before using pants
3. Use pants that absorb sweat
4. Wash the vagina in the right way from front to back to avoid contamination of germs from the anus
5. Routinely replace pads during menstruation
That's all, hope you can help
