Vaginal Swab Examination Results?
Hello Mrs. Merapi,
Thank you for the question.
Leucorrhoea can be caused by normal and abnormal responses. Whitish as a normal response to clear color occurs in pregnant women, prepubertal, menopause, and stress. Abnormal vaginal discharge tends to smell, color, and be accompanied by itching. As for the causes of abnormal vaginal discharge:
Candidiasis is caused by the Candida fungus which can cause smelly, milky white vaginal discharge accompanied by itching. This disease is associated with hygiene, obesity, diabetes, and the use of corticosteroid drugs
Bacterial vaginosis is caused by the bacteria Gardenella vaginalis. This disease is associated with the use of feminine soap, antibiotics, sexually transmitted infections, and use of intrauterine contraceptives.
Trichomoniasis is caused by the parasite Trichomonas vaginalis. This infection causes symptoms of smelly, greenish, and itchy vaginal discharge. This disease is associated with sexually transmitted infections.
Staphylococcus aureus bacteria are bacteria that are normal in the skin, respiratory tract and digestive tract. Infections that can be caused by these bacteria can include boils, acne, urinary tract infections, inflammation of the brain, and bone infections.
If you want to know the exact cause and get the right treatment, you should go to a Gynecologist or Dermatologist.
Women who are married or have had sexual intercourse should have a Pap smear accompanied by HPV-DNA testing. The method of examining HPV-DNA is the same as a Pap Smear. Pap smear and HPV-DNA examination is done to determine the risk of cervical cancer.
