Vitamin Pregnancy

Doc, I’m 25 weeks pregnant. Last month I checked and got a prescription for vitamin folamil genio plus calnic plus. Usually I can only prescribe folamil genio. This month I am discouraging control because of a pandemic and an appeal not to control while conditions are fine.

Hello Evi,
Thank you for the question.
During pregnancy, to support the development of the fetus in the womb, as well as stamina and endurance, you do need a nutritional intake that is not small. Often, these nutritional needs are difficult to fulfill just from food and drinks that are consumed daily. Therefore, many doctors will recommend pregnant women take certain supplements during pregnancy.
The selection of supplements during pregnancy certainly should not be arbitrary. This should be adjusted to the nutritional needs of each person, which can vary depending on age, body posture, history of previous pregnancy, as well as general health conditions. The content in Calnic plus (ie calcium and vitamin D) is also contained in Folamil genio. However, the doctor who examined you certainly understands the reason you need to be given these two types of supplements simultaneously, and it's not enough to just one of them. As is known, intake of calcium and vitamin D in the second and third trimesters is very important role in ensuring the bones, muscles, nervous system, and teeth and joints of the fetus to develop properly.
Our advice, you still take pregnancy supplements as the last time the doctor advised you. Or more secure, try to consult by telephone or other media that can minimize direct contact, with an obstetrician who used to treat you so that best advice is given.
Hope this helps ...
