I was in an accident two weeks ago when I was riding and my head collided with a helmet, for 2 weeks I had a headache and had a CT scan.
Hello Ms.Adelin Farasyfa, thank you for consulting us on HealthReplies.com.
An injury to the head is called a head injury, which can cause disruption or damage to the brain that can be permanent. Generally head injuries that are mild or severe can be caused by motor vehicle accidents, hitting or hitting something hard, falling or getting hit in the head. Whereas in children is usually caused due to falling or hitting.
When the doctor has done a CT scan and states there is no problem, then the possibility is a mild head injury / mild head trauma, the symptoms usually are dizziness or headache, loss of balance, fatigue and drowsiness, speech disturbance, nausea to vomiting, sleep disturbance, disappear awareness of a few seconds or minutes. Generally when observations have been made for at least 1x24 hours there are no signs of danger leading to severe head injuries such as constant vomiting, convulsions, blurred vision, discharge from the ears and nose, amnesia, coma, worsening headaches, changes in behavior, then it is likely that only mild to moderate head injuries occur. However, if you have been nauseous and vomiting for 2 weeks, there may be complications from minor head injury or post concussion syndrome.
You should immediately check yourself back at the doctor to have an additional examination done to you, to rule out the possibility of progression to a more serious head injury. While you should get adequate rest, avoid using pain medications other than paracetamol, you should not engage in activities such as driving or doing rather strenuous physical activities. Thus we can convey, hopefully our information can be useful for you. thanks.
