Sleep is an activity and physiological needs that humans do every day, and has great benefits to restore the body's stamina and support the regeneration of damaged cells during sleep.
In newborns, almost everyday is used for sleep, so that brain growth, organ system growth is better and optimal for baby growth and development. As the baby gets older, sleep time decreases and shifts in sleep will lead to better sleep according to the needs of human sleep in general.
However, if parents find abnormalities or sleep disorders of the baby, either because the baby has a fever, cough, flu, diarrhea, or because of other health problems, then parents should immediately consult with their family doctor or pediatrician for appropriate medical examination and treatment.
Regarding your question, in general, the sleep needs of newborn babies can range from 18-19 hours in one day. And optimal sleep needs can occur at night until morning. So that in the morning until noon, the baby can sleep and do sleep activities according to their needs. For the night, at the time before 7 pm, usually the baby has started sleeping until morning. However, even if your baby sleeps well, usually the baby will wake up to drink milk, even if the baby does not wake up to drink milk, you can wake him up to 2 hours to drink milk until the following morning.
After waking up in the morning, usually the baby will play and interact with family, then, after interacting for a few hours, your baby will sleep again to meet their needs. During the day the baby will wake up for some time, then the baby will sleep again during the day. So that sleep in the morning after bathing and socializing and napping is a reasonable condition for babies. Therefore, in general you can follow the baby's sleep phase according to their needs, both morning and afternoon sleep for your baby.
However, if you feel worried or doubtful, you can consult directly with your pediatrician.
Thus the info we can convey.
