What Happens If The Body Lacks Enzymes?
I want to ask, what happens if our bodies have enzymes? thank you
Hello, Uurtirtayasa, thanks for asking HealthReplies.com.
It should be understood, enzymes are natural molecules in the body that speed up the process of chemical reactions that occur in our body cells. Enzymes are essential for life and play an important role in our digestion and metabolism. Some enzymes break down larger molecules into smaller ones so the body can absorb them, for example, the pepsin enzyme in the stomach that breaks down protein into smaller forms for easy absorption by the body. Several other enzymes also help bind molecules that can form a new molecule that is important in chemical processes that occur in the body.
Some abnormalities will occur if the body lacks certain enzymes, such as lactose intolerance, where the body lacks the lactase enzyme, the enzyme that breaks down lactose (sugar) into smaller forms, namely glucose and galactose. Lactose that is not digested properly will cause the lactose to stay in the intestines and will be fermented by bacteria, causing various problems, such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, vomiting, and bloating.
Thus, the adequacy of enzymes is very important for our body. That's it, I hope it's useful.
