What Medicine To Kill Intestinal Protozoa?
good night, I’m fina a student who will do research on intestinal protozoa. there are currently many government programs on eradicating helminthiasis by administering worming. I will conduct research in areas where hygiene is low but before treatment has been done on the subject. can medicine for killing worms kill intestinal protozoa as well as entamoeba histolitica and giardia lamblia?
Hello Fina! Thank you for asking at HealthReplies.com.
Medicines for intestinal worms or antihelmintics are drugs that are specifically for killing worms. Worm medicine consists of various kinds to kill various worms. Not all worms can be eradicated with drugs for worms that are distributed by the government, but the drugs given by the government are drugs that can overcome worms that often occur in society and have a negative impact on health even though the person does not feel any symptoms. If the worm medicine alone cannot kill all worms, it certainly cannot kill protozoa as you mentioned. To kill the protozoa, other drugs are needed. However, in principle, prevention of protozoan infections must be based on the principle of good sanitation and a healthy lifestyle. Protozoan infections also usually cause symptoms, such as bloody diarrhea due to infection with Entamoeba histolitica in the intestine. After symptoms appear, the patient is then examined and given the appropriate medication if it is diagnosed with a protozoan infection. In other words, drugs to kill protozoa are not given en masse like anticacing drugs.
That's all information from me. Hope it helps and hopefully smoothly for research.
