White Spots On The Lips Accompanied By Swelling And Pain?
Hello, I’m a 17-year-old woman, about three days ago when I woke up suddenly I felt my lips were swollen. Then the time I checked was correct. Indeed, sometimes I often happen like that. Then 4 hours later I felt my lower lip was rough and there were small spots (not white). The next day the swelling in my lips disappeared. But there are a few white spots on my lips. The third day the spots became more and more and I felt disturbed by that when I pressed my lips a little pain. When I checked on the website what happened to me I discovered that there were symptoms of herpes. So is it true that what I experienced was herpes? If yes, how do I handle it?
Thank you for the question.
Lips that are suddenly swollen, feel rough, ache, and have small white spots, indeed one of them can indicate an infection of the lips. Not just herpes, various other types of infections, for example cutaneous candidiasis, folliculitis, acne, impetigo, syphilis, and so on can also cause this kind of kelugan. In addition, there may also be complaints on your lips due to causes other than infection, such as allergic contact dermatitis, insect bites, drug eruption, atopic dermatitis, hyperkeratosis, seborrheic dermatitis, and so on.
If the complaints that appear are very disturbing, we recommend that you consult yourself directly to a doctor or dermatologist. Simply by direct inspection, often the doctor can give you the best treatment, for example by being given an ointment, powder, or special oral medication. However, if a more serious condition is suspected, the doctor may also advise you to undergo an allergy test, skin biopsy, blood test, and so on.
In the meantime, the initial handling you can do:
Be diligent in the morning and evening. Clean your lips well while taking a bath, use mild cleansing soap. Use toothpaste and non-irritating mouthwash. Do not use cosmetics that are out-of-date or contain irritating substances around your lips. Cold compresses and swollen spots on your lips Avoid kissing or having oral sex with an unclear sexual partner Drinking more water Hopefully it helps ya ..
