Why Are The Corners Of Both Lips And Nose Folds Sore And Blackened?
Hello doctor, my nasal folds are sore, my skin is peeling, and I leave scars when my skin peels off. After that the scars will become black. The corners of both lips also feel dry, sometimes appearing like blackheads but only at the corners of the lips and no pimples appear. Feeling sore and hot accompanied by blackening as if my lips become wide like a joker. I wonder why?
Hello Zahra, thank you for your question to HealthReplies.com
Facial skin in the folds of the nose, around the lips, and around the eyes is very sensitive skin. There are many possible causes for these areas to become dry, flaky and blackened, some of which are:
facial treatments that cause the face to become dry (for example the wrong way to wash your face, use facial soap that is too hard)
use of facial skin care products that dry the skin or accelerate the process of facial skin replacement
irritation or allergies due to certain facial skin care products or cosmetics
excessive sun exposure on facial skin
hormonal influences (for example due to pregnancy)
the influence of temperature and weather (for example air that is too cold and dry, many are in air-conditioned rooms)
side effects of certain drugs (eg use of vitamin A derivatives)
The following are some things you can try to do:
Perform facial care properly, wash your face a maximum of 2 times a day or just once a day if the skin is very dry, use a gentle soap for the face
If you use certain skin care products, avoid rubbing in the nasal fold area, around the mouth, and around the eyes
Choose cosmetics correctly, choose one that suits the condition of your facial skin
Use facial moisturizers as part of your facial treatment
Use sunscreen before leaving the house in the morning / afternoon, use a hat or umbrella if the conditions are very hot
Use air humidifiers in your workspace if you are a lot in an air-conditioned room
If the condition of your facial skin does not improve after trying the above treatments, you should consult with a dermatologist so that further evaluation and treatment can be done.
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
