Why Can’t My Ear Hear Next To Me?
I had eardrum surgery in Jakarta, the reason I had surgery was because I could not hear the result behind my drum there was a lot of mucus so I was put in a device like a small plastic tube. After returning from Jakarta, I was controlled at the hospital. A few weeks after control, I can hear again on the left. It turned out that the device had fallen off. Once taken and cleaned. I can hear normal although on the right there is still the device attached. Well a week ago I again could not hear the left. I took it to the hospital yesterday, and it turned out that my ears were moldy. I was given ear drops even though they were eye drops. My doctor said, it can be put on the ear. I gave it twice. But my ears didn’t make any progress at all. In fact, he couldn’t even hear more. I wonder how? Please find a solution. I don’t know why😭😭
Hello Mrs. Hilda! Thank you for asking at HealthReplies.com.
Yeast infection of the ear is also known as otomycosis. Otomycosis can indeed occur in ears with high humidity and temperature. The risk of otomycosis increases with the use of cotton swabs and hearing aids. A history of injury to the ear can also cause otomycosis. The therapy given usually includes cleaning the ear and applying an antifungal to the ear. To clean the ears, sometimes ENT doctors use a suction device. The antifungal medicine that is given is usually dripped in the ear. There are some ear drops that contain the same active substance as eye drops. What distinguishes it is usually only the percentage of the active substance and its packaging. Make sure you use the drops according to the advice of your ENT doctor. Pay attention to how many times you need to drip it in a day and how many drops to give each time. Healing does not happen immediately with just two uses. It usually takes several days to several weeks to clear the infection and restore hearing function.
Avoid scratching or using cotton swabs on the ears as this can worsen the yeast infection. Keep the ears dry and clean. Make sure you go to an ENT doctor according to the schedule given. If your hearing gets worse, has severe pain, or has discharge from your ear, you can see an ENT doctor right away before your schedule.
This is information from me. I hope this helps.
