Why Do I Often Suddenly Cry For No Reason?
I am a 20 year old woman. In the past 1 year I often suddenly cry and feel very sad for no apparent reason. Especially when on the road while driving, or when daydreaming and when alone. I used to cry more at night and dawn. But now it can happen anytime. It felt like I had to keep crying to be relieved. Because if you don’t cry for a day, it feels like something is missing. Do I need a psychiatrist/psychologist? Please help. Thank you
Crying in principle is a form of the body's normal emotional response. People cry easily in certain situations, such as when grieving, watching/reading/hearing sad stories, or sometimes even crying easily for no apparent reason. Generally there is nothing harmful from this cry.
Although the emotional response is normal, there is also an abnormal crying habit. Excessive crying followed by a feeling of emptiness, sadness, lack of enthusiasm, which lasts for more than 1 week may indicate a depressive disorder. Usually, depressed people who often cry indicate that their depression is still mild.
Apart from the explanation above, if your complaint is very disturbing, there is nothing wrong with consulting a psychiatrist. The doctor will ask about your problems and complaints in an effort to find the best way. Meanwhile, try to express your complaint with the closest relatives. Usually by "venting" his complaints are mostly reduced compared to just being kept to himself.
