Why Does An Ectopic Pregnancy Bleed Every Day?
In the afternoon … I want to ask, my obstetrical age is about 5 weeks and the results of the ultrasound yesterday my obstetrician said that I was ectopic pregnant and had to be operated on immediately, but after ultrasound every day bleeding like menstruation, did I experience a miscarriage or bleeding due to an ectopic pregnancy because there is no pain or heartburn? Please enlighten me
Thank you for the question.
Ectopic pregnancy refers to a pregnancy where the fetus is implanted not in the uterus, but outside the uterus, in the fallopian tubes, cervix, ovaries, sometimes even the abdominal cavity. This condition can cause sufferers to experience symptoms like a pregnant woman, including nausea, stomach cramps, no menstruation, sensitive breasts, frequent urination, constipation, mood swing, and so on. However, in contrast to normal pregnancies, ectopic pregnancy will sooner or later end in miscarriage, either spontaneously or inductively, because the body considers the fetus outside the uterus as a foreign object that must be expelled. This condition is likely to cause bleeding like menstruation as you are experiencing right now. In most cases, bleeding due to a dead ectopic fetus will appear preceded or accompanied by severe abdominal pain, in the lower abdomen, can be right, left, or both. However, given the pain threshold is different for each person, then this pain may not feel significant to you, so often overlooked.
The good, you still check your condition to the doctor or obstetrician for further review via ultrasound, whether your ectopic fetus is dead, or not. If so, it could be enough to recommend that your doctor rest and also give you some type of medicine to clean the remaining tissue in the uterus while controlling bleeding. But if not, then in addition to giving medication, maybe your doctor will recommend that you undergo certain operations to prevent dangerous complications. Because, ectopic pregnancy if late handled, sometimes it can rupture and cause peritonitis (inflammation of the lining of the abdominal cavity) which is potentially life-threatening.
Hope this helps ...
