Hello, I want to ask, why lately how come every time I bow down and want to stand up, my head feels really dizzy … like floating. I want to hold on, but I was dizzy first until I wanted to fall … That’s why huh ???

Dizziness like floating and want to fall, especially when you rise may indicate that you experience orthostatic hypotension (postural hypotension). This condition occurs due to a sudden drop in blood pressure that occurs when the body arises, such as from a sleeping or sitting position. Not only dizzy, patients can even experience fainting because of it.

When the body sleeps or sits, a lot of blood collects in the abdomen and lower limbs, and causes blood pressure to drop due to less blood flowing back to the heart. Normally, baroreceptor cells in the heart and large blood vessels in the neck can detect this drop in blood pressure and signal the brain to order the heart to pump blood faster and stronger to stabilize blood pressure again. If this process fails to achieve, then what arises is orthostatic hypotension. This condition can be triggered by dehydration, heart disorders (for example heart valve disorders, heart rhythm disorders, heart attacks, or heart failure), hormonal disorders (for example due to diabetes, Addison's disease), as well as nerve disorders (for example due to Parkinson's disease, amyloidosis). It could also, this condition occurs when you get up after eating (postprandial hypotension).

The dizziness you feel, aside from orthostatic hypotension, may also indicate that you are experiencing sleep deprivation, dehydration, malnutrition, hypoglycemia, anemia, heart problems, side effects of drugs, vertigo, viral or bacterial infections, psychological disorders, and many other possibilities.
