Why Is 39 Weeks Gestation Given A Softener For The Womb?
Good morning, I am 39 weeks pregnant. During the midwifery checkup yesterday I was given a strip of white neurobionic medicine which is said to be a softener of the uterus? Can you explain the purpose of the uterine softener itself? Is it useful to speed up the opening process because I am already quite pregnant? And is it safe to drink 2 times a day? Please help
Hello Ms. Bio! Thank you for asking at HealthReplies.com.
The medicine that you mentioned contained vitamins B1, B6, and B12. So far there have been no studies that prove the function of vitamins B1, B6, and B12 in softening the uterus and cervix. The process of softening the cervix is indeed a process that occurs when labor will occur. However, this process has not been proven to be helped by the consumption of vitamins B1, B6, and B12. The vitamins themselves are very good for consumption by pregnant women, but the dose given seems to be too much for pregnant women. In this last trimester, do not forget to check with your obstetrician at least once to ensure that the condition of the pregnancy is in good health and to plan the delivery process. If the womb is indeed normal and there is nothing to watch out for, the mother can give birth assisted by a midwife. However, if there are problems with the uterus or there are conditions that need to be watched out for, you may need to give birth assisted by an obstetrician at the hospital.
That's all information from me. I hope this helps.
